Dick Cheney owns stock options in Halliburton, and he visited CIA
Edited on Sun Sep-12-04 01:09 PM by Eric J in MN
headquarters to talk to low-level analysts to taint the Iraq wmd intelligence, so he could start a war.

Halliburton already had a no-bid contract for a possible Iraq War at the time of these CIA visits, and Cheney's stock options would increase in value once the US attacked Iraq.

Agree or disagreee?

2. agreed. as i've said many times, it's the options, not the deferred comp.
people dwell on the fact that he's still getting deferred compensation from salary accrued while ceo.

this is no big deal, because his only ongoing interest there is that he has to hope halliburton doesn't go bankrupt. actually, even less, since salary payments rank pretty high up in bankruptcy.

but the options are another story entirely. he stands to gain millions but only if the stock price goes up. so he has a hueueueuge incentive to steer business at favorable terms to halliburton.

it's absolutely insane how whitewater was a big scandal and cheney's stock options are a non-issue.

3. Good point. The media which devoted so much space to Clinton's Whitewater
rarely mentions Dick Cheney's stock options in a company which got a no-bid contract BEFORE the Iraq War which would only be in effect if the US went to war against Iraq.
