Report from Fort Worth TX annual Zest Fest...
This weekend was the zest fest here, an annual show where vendors display and sell hot sauces, bbq sauces, chili powder, etc. There was a kerr/dewards booth selling t-shirts and buttons, and a bush* booth doing the same.

It might surprise some here that we saw dozens of people wearing kerry/edwards stuff, and only a 3 or 4 wearing bush* stuff. People would see the buttons we were wearing and say "nice button". I witnessed no such remarks by bush* people.

Many vendors also made positive remarks about our buttons, with one vendor even stating that this election was going to chart the course of our nation for decades to come.

Only one vendor made a pro-bush* remark (to my wife, not me). He said that he'd give her half off on a jar of sauce if she would switch teams. She half-laughed and told him "That ain't gonna happen" then walked off without buying anything from him.

Anyway, a very positive day for kerry/edwards people here. We have the fire and the fight! Let's do it.

1. Ohh nice!
What's really a change is that people in Texas seem a lot more willing to display something. I think maybe Boosh has loosened his hold somewhat on the state pride thing.

2. Thanks for the heartening report!
I noticed pretty much the same thing up in Kennebunkport over Labor Day weekend.

It's funny how the polls don't reflect our day to day reality. Hmmm....

3. I keep saying it
Winning Texas isn't really a pipe dream. Well, maybe, but if they come close, it says a lot.
Btw...went to Texas a month ago and really enjoyed your state. :hi:

5. yeah, tx isn't as bad as some reports would make you believe...
but we are fortunate enough to live in a somewhat liberal area (the cultural district in fort worth: museums, restaurants, parks, etc). In fact, there are about 15 kerry/edwards signs on our street, compared to only one bush* sign.

but there are also parts of the metroplex that are close to 100% repug. It is very uncomfortble there.
