The Hatch Act doesn't mean we can't support a candidate; it means we cannot use our govt. position to support him, or use the agency. We can still volunteer off hours, canvass, phone bank, etc. Just not in the name of the US govt.
Edit: I'm amending the post. I looked it up and here's a list of people who can't take part in partisan activity:
