I'm so mad!
I was flipping channels and came upon a few seconds of the anti-Kerry Vietnam veteran group. I just happened to come upon some asshole who started talking about how he was party of the resistance against the horrible Marxist government in Nicaragua and complained about how Kerry underminded Reagan's efforts to spread freedom. Okay, so not only is the Vietnam war being seen through revisionist eyes but so are the civil wars in Central America? Those "freedom fighters" murdered women and children. My family had to flee El Salvador because of the widespread violence bankrolled by the U.S. government. I'm not saying that there wasn't violence on both sides. However, murdering innocent people is not "freedom fighting". I'm sorry, but that really, really made me angry.

3. I saw that bunch of MoFos too. I also saw
one of their spokespersons on C-span this morning. He was a certifiable asshole, bar none.

He was on across the table with another veteran from a "normal" veteran org. The two almost came to blows arguing facts about Kerry's service. It was riveting and infuriating. This group rallied in DC but the opposing group (anti SVFT)that wanted to speak there also, were chased off!

Those people are DEMENTED!! Vile, Foul, debased, Evil. I feel your anger and I'm very sorry for your suffering. If I had been any where near them (I and my veteran hubby) the fur would have been flying...garanteed.

Yes, do go to the SOA if you can. It's a terrific way to fight the machine that produced the killers that ravaged your homeland.

I know the story of El Salvador fairly well. I'm so so sorry.

5. Thanks for your responses
I feel a lot better. I never realized how someone's ignorance and disregard for the truth could upset me so much. I usually just figure they're deluded and let it go. This really really made me angry.

I guess their definition of "spreading freedom" is that "we get to destroy their governments if so happens that they elect someone we do not like and we put in place a sadistic puppet dictator"

So if that is their definition, then they are right. However it would be nice if they spoke English, somehow "spreading freedom" means something else in English, dunno if they got the memo.

I guess they were "Spreading freedom" in Chile in '72, and the freedom spread also went in Nicaragua in the mid 80s. Funny how they only started to be concerned with the freedom of the Chilean and Nicaraguan people as soon as they decided to vote a leftist government in.

Funny how I used to think that a democracy somehow leads to freedom and both of those countries were democracies because they VOTED IN the wrong government (well the wrong people according to the US). So now a dictatorship is democracy, martial law is freedom, up is down, and people who live in the British occupied sector of Austria get to see Russian tanks and experience socialism first hand in one of the most conservative countries in post war Europe. Oh my...

7. A winger told me that THOUSANDS of veterans were there.
Out of curiosity I watched the C-SPAN coverage... HAHAHAHAHAHA! Maybe 200 people were there! What a joke! We progressives and American patriots show up in the HUNDREDS of thousands for such events. Don't get angry. Get even! Expose them for who they are!
