Well, I just found out that a friend of mine is in Iraq!

She had told me at Christmas break that she would likely be sent to Afghanistan or Kuwait (I was hoping for Kuwait, obviously), but now I learned from a friend that she's been in Iraq for a few months. The good news is that she may already be coming home next month, or in December.

My poor friend joined the reserves, against her parents wishes, I think so she could finally do something exciting for once after living in kind of a repressive and dull home environment. I really hope she's safe (I don't think her job is too dangerous, but you never know what might happen), because she's not one of those people who I can picture doing anything dangerous. I have to make sure I give her a big hug when she comes home.

My friend in the Marines, on the other hand, is a different story. I pity the poor SOB who ever has to fight him. And yes, we think he'll be going to Iraq soon as well.
