might happen before the election if they thought they were going to lose. Forget all that. Let's assume they lose.

Novak said the "Republican party would implode". After they get through imploding - then what would they do. Long term and Short term??

Will they learn not to run an overly religious person again? Will they tighten the noose even tighter on all media. the Internet, etc. Who all will get fired?

I just wonder what other people's thoughts are on this one.

1. They will work to further Sovietize Amerika
They will fabricate charges on Kerry if they cannot find a picayune technical abuse of a minor law.

They will clamp down like Pinochet did to Argentina but more bloodlessly.

Whereas Pinochet murdered enemies, the Busheviks, except in rare case, will character assassinate them.

3. The same thing
they'll do if they win - bitch constantly. Only difference is now they'll blame Kerry instead of Clinton for everything

4. The are really irrelevant after this. The old Republicans were
the party of fiscal responsibility and isolationism, or at least wanted to keep out of foreign entanglements. Now that those two are gone, what is left? Nothing but special interests, including big business, the anti-choice lobby, the NRA and knocking down Democratic administrations. It will be hard to win on those issues.

6. They'll load up on their middle east agenda and execute.
They have every reason to initiate whatever foreign adventures they have planned and stick Kerry/Edwards with them. Dealing with Iran's nuclear threat, etc. will be high on the list. Unlike Clinton who worked on a transition of initiatives and was reluctant to burden Bush with a war he didn't start, they'll be the foreign policy equivalent of 'neocons gone wild.'

They will also promulgate a ton of regulations making Clinton and any previous president look modest in comparison.

Finally, they will activate their Clinton era behavior in congress (which will really piss off many people who, as a result, will give the Dems total control of congress in 2006...count on it.)

8. Depends. Does Kerry win in Landslide?
If the election is close you can depend on a wide array of challenges, protests, recounts, etc,,, to make 2000 look like a grade school election. Doubt it? Just recall the 2000 Republican storming of the Florida recounts.

If it's a Kerry Landslide they will go after Kerry just like they continuously hounded Clinton. They will instantly no longer consider us to be "at war." They will detail every returning coffin from overseas action with 24 hour coverage. Suddenly it will be patriotic to oppose the tyranny in Washington DC in order to restore the one, true America.

Winning against these goons isn't enough. They must be crushed in the election, in the White House, Congress and Senate, and then they must be dug out from under their many rocks and tried in the full light of fair justice.

Then, and only then, can we begin to heal the wounds this neo-con administration has caused our nation.

9. They will act like the sore losermans they are.
Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 11:59 AM by calimary
They'll try to spoil the party for the winners, they'll try to defeat everything Kerry and Edwards initiate - just out of spite, mind you, and they'll try anything to get "their" White House back. They'll immediately get to work on how Kerry could be impeached. We've already seen concrete examples of how they do not accept election results that don't go their way. When Gray Davis beat that pathetic twerp bill simon in the last LEGAL, LEGITIMATE ELECTION here in California, they set about getting a recall underway. And they made it stick.

And of course we ALL know what happened during Selection 2000...

They do NOT believe in, or support, "working with" anybody. It's everybody else MUST conform to what they want and how they think. That was one of the underlying messages of their CONvention - that we must all unite as Americans - but STRICTLY under OUR rule. We want everybody to get along - just so long as you all do what WE say.

10. Depends on alot of factors.
How much do they lose by? Do they lose congress too? How do they lose? What do they end up doing before they lose?

If they keep congress and lose the presidency, we are probably in for another clinton administration. If they lose alot more, then we might see something desperate.

11. 11/2: Lose election. 11/3: Draft Articles of Impeachment for Kerry.
In the deepest recesses of someone's laptop, the GOP will have them ready and waiting. All they have to do is fill-in-the-blanks when Kerry looks cross-eyed at them.

Am I the only one who thinks that a President Kerry is an absolute lock to be impeached if Congress is still under GOP control?

13. They've already hinted
with the swift boat liars.

They'll start all of that crazy impeachment investigation after investigation behavior again. And probably engineer a few terrorist attacks.

4 years of relentless harping on Kerry and his administration. It will be infuriating. Like it was with Bill.

14. They'll do exactly as much as America's corpo-fascist media
will let them get away with. Which is pretty much anything at all outside the bounds of honesty or decency or even legality.

Specifically, they'll focus their depravity where they already have, because that's just how long they hold their bile and how creative they are. That's why Clinton was impeached for the very same charges of womanizing that they tried so hard to tar him with during his election six years earlier.

So, Kerry will be weak. He'll be a 'flip-flopper' throughout his tenure. Even though HE served valiantly and THEY are the liars. He will be tax-and-spend, even though they have run up most of an eight trillion dollar deficit. Etc etc. They won't change. They can't.

What Dems have to do is not forget the past. That is, not forget now. Not forget Iraq. Not forget the abuse of 9/11. Not forget the stolen election in 2000. Not forget the depraved impeachment of Clinton.

Those poor little defeated Republicans, quietly licking their wounds and looking so obviously powerless. You'll just want to hold them after power turns around and you all feel safe. You'll feel good telling them that everything will be OK for them too. That we never hold grudges.

I say even one Republican in Congress is one Republican too many.
