The Flypaper Theory of Iraq is true, according to reports (satire).
The Bush administration has been tricked into deploying all of its prime special forces and intelligence efforts into Iraq, new reports reveal. Members of Al-Qaeda have apparently used this strategy to win their own war of terror in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Said one leading Al-Qaeda figure in Afghanistan: "I sure would rather be fighting the Americans in one place overseas where they are sitting ducks than have them pursuing us in our own homes. Iraq has certainly drawn in all of the Crusaders' best assets that would ordinarily have been deployed against us."

1. Same goes for Iran
Iran would much rather "fight" the US in Iraq than on Iranian soil.

TPM has a great article on this today as well:

2. I saw TPM's point.
My point is that not only is the Admin's flypaper theory crap, but the exact opposite is happening. We are no longer taking the fight to the terrorists because of Iraq.

Where they used the analogy of an "away game" in place of the flypaper term. So I think that is what we are up against is the comparison of fighting here at home or in Iraq.

TPM rips it all to shreds, but you don't hear enough dems putting forth a strong argument like that. This is why I supported Clark in the primaries.
