Are we learning anything from this campaign?
We're better than they are. I see us pointing to their game, and trying to match it.

The history of war is a history of fortification, and breach. How do we breach their fortifications? Where are our great minds on this? Advising Kerry, I would hope. I wish I had a better picture though.

5. Over the past year,
I have begun to believe that the grassroots has power. But the proof will be on November 3rd, when the votes are counted.

I thought it was true when I supported Dean, and I was wrong. But I see the grassroots swelling up to support Kerry, and we'll see if we can make it work this time.

Bush has money on his side and media on his side... not to mention lack of ethics. So if we win, it will be an incredible triumph of "the people".

6. I'm beginning to think elections are won and lost..
based entirely on a few perceptions. I know there are people that genuinely look at the issues and make informed decisions, but those people are already on our team. When I talk to the uncommitted voters, the responses I get seem to be based on nothing more than an impression that was formed for no reason that's really relevant to anything at all. I spent this weekend placing as many Kerry/Edwards stickers and signs as I could, because I came to the conclusion that an awful lot of people out there are going to vote for the guy that they think everybody else is voting for. We've got the vote from the informed, maybe now it's time to advertise a lot. I just know we have to win this one!

Nice to see you again, Cary : )

7. Three Hour Press Conference is what Kerry needs!
He has to talk directly to the press no crowds, no speeches, just hours of anti-BFEE, anit-TexasMafia, and complete debunking and exposure of the crap that has been tossed out about him. He can't wait for the liberal press to do his job. If they all hear it at once it will to be discussed at large and would make news for days and weeks.

8. I'm not so sure
What truly frightens me is the depth and breadth of the extreme right. They've disenfranchised the moderates who meekly go along with it all.

9. That trying to capture votes by being like the opposition doesn't work.
Clinton and the DLC left a legacy that the way to win was to become like the republicans, but "not as bad". The DLC and it's apologists cling to that theory despite the fact that it's a loser, as 2000 and 2002, show.

The Great Boobya now infesting the White House proclaims conservative ideology without a blink and is seen as a "decisive" leader, even though most people disagree with his programs. Much like Reagan.

The Democrats run wishy-washy candidates who continue to try to appease the right by becoming more like them.

I find it interesting that those Democrats who are most outspoken against BushCorp are usually well ahead in the polls. While the ones that did everything to "compromise" by avoiding the issues (i.e. the IWR vote) are threatened.

If the Democratic Party wants to win, it is necessary to actually stand for something and quit apologizing to the right.
