Zapatero proclama ante Chirac y Schröder que 'la vieja Europa está como nueva'

MADRID.- El presidente del Gobierno, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, el canciller alemán, Gerhard Schröder, y el presidente francés, Jacques Chirac, han expresado voluntad común de trabajar juntos en la construcción europea tras celebrar en La Moncloa la primera cumbre trilateral que convoca el Gobierno socialista. "La vieja Europa está como nueva", ha dicho Zapatero.

El presidente del Gobierno español se ha referido a sus homólogos como "amigos" y ha reconocido la contribución de Francia y Alemania al "fortalecimiento de la democracia en España.

En una rueda de prensa conjunta posterior a su encuentro en La Moncloa, los tres dirigentes han manifestado su apoyo a la "ratificación de la Constitución Europea".
