Are Gun stores going to stay open until after Midnight tonight?
Kinda like a CD release party at a music store or the night of a new Harry Potter book or something. The gun store opens up for a special evening of buying new assault rifles and submachine guns? It could be an interesting crowd to say the least, though I can image many would wet themselves at the prospect of purchasing an assault weapon at 12:01AM.

1. What a sick thought.
But, I'll bet quite a few will, if they can.

2. Guy I know kept rubbing his hands together saying "I can't wait"

I was like "yeah, whatever - it's your hobby, I'm not that interested in it so I don't see what the big deal is". He just sat there with a big shit-eating grin on his face. I asked him to help me buy an assault rifle to protect myself from Dubya. He said "OK - you might need it". He's an outdoors person who HATES Dubya. Besides destroying his outdoor areas, he remembers Dubya having protesters of his "slash and burn" policies arrested outside the Governors mansion in Texas (yes, Dubs has been doing this crap for a LONG time). They got out of jail and sued him and won - what else is new - Bush rarely wins law suits concerning his abuse of power - too bad he is incapable of learning.

3. How much does an AK-47 run for these days?
Then there's the Chinese pirated version. I forget what it's called. Are those cheaper?

6. ....since you asked
The Chinese version (the MAk-90) is actually cheaper, but better than the other Warsaw Pact Export brands - in fact, the US government ordered Mak-90's for the USN SEALS, as did the government of Finland.

The Mak-90 was NEVER illegal under the ban, and yet it has EXACTLY the same killing power as a 1951 era AK-47 - it just looks a little dorkier

The AWB removed nothing from the streets or sales - and it barely crimped production.

It's only real effect was on magazine size - 16+ mags went way up in price, so people stopped buying them, the price lowered, people bought a few more, but the market sort of settled out...
