1. Because Iraqis don't count in the American media...

...they're not us, so we don't care.

2. Because they just don't give a shit!!!
It doesn't matter that we have become worse than the "insurgents." At least they are fighting for their own land.

4. Its not the media-its the American people
They just don't give a s**t-just like they don't give a damm about the US debt or the fact that the US has few allies or that their neighbor doesn't have health insurance etc-the only thing that will wipe the smirk off the country's face is 4 more years of disaster and the upcoming Bush depression-its mourning in America

7. It's okay to post this on DU, but you should be writing your
local news outlets and demanding that they cover this. Sometimes the squeaky wheel....

I wouldn't waste my time with the cable or national outlets, they won't listen, but the local outlets and newspapers who rely on your business really can't ignore many of their potential customers threatening to turn them off or not buy their paper.

8. Because we're taking the fight to the terrists.
All those children we had to kill were so dangerous.

We had to get rid of Saddam so we could bring in foreign terrists to fight on their soil.

9. The "privileged" don't want to disturb their "beautiful minds",...
,...with reality,...and they, the "privileged" are at the top of the 'food chain', for now.

10. 100 dead yesterday
But, as another poster noted yesterday, at midnight tonight (Iraqi time) the counter gets reset to zero again. This is not going well, and it is not going to end well. :( :( :(

Or maybe the problem is just that the U.S. is not doing a good-enough job of communicating the up-side of the situation in Iraq. I swear I heard Powell say that on MTP yesterday. O.M.F.G.

11. Am I wrong - has anyone else noticed....
1. There was a piece coming from somewhere within the last week that the number of Iraqi's who die will not be broadcast. Maybe it was the total number, maybe it was per day.

2. All of a sudden there seems to be no U.S. citizens getting killed - i.e., no reporting on them that I've seen.

3. All of a sudden the number of Iraqis who are getting killed each day is being broadcast.

Is my observation wrong? Perhaps no Americans have died.

I think we should know the tally for:

Number of journalists killed with a live camera on them (and journalists-photographers-guides without a live camera on them.

Number of Iraqis by gender and age group.

Number of prisoners who have died.

Number of prisoners tortured and tormented.

Number of coalition partners killed.

Number of aid workers killed.

Number of diplomats killed, plus citizenship.

Number of coalition partners who have lost limbs, organs, immune systems, minds.

Number of hostages killed.

Number of hostages released.

Number of Americans who have lost limbs, organs, immune systems, minds.

Number of children who have lost parents.

Number of people who have lost their dream.

Number of people who don't sleep well at night.

12. Should Kerry be making the point every time
he makes a speech. Number of US deaths # of Iraqi deaths, how many wounded, etc.?

13. They're jus terrorists.
Good Amerikans don't care about them. Uh...some are women, children and babies? They are terrorist sympathizers. No need to feel anything for them either.

14. Very sad isn't it?
It's not about WMD, or bad guys or liberating any more, it's about conquering.

15. Because the media whores have
convinced Americans that Iraqis are terrorists, and since the only good terrorist is a dead terrorist, their demise isn't seen as a tragedy, but evidence that we are "winning" the war on terra.

American deaths and dismemberments are inconvenient, and therefore,
underreported or ignored.
