Lou Dobbs-AmericanJobsFilm.com about Cannon Linens closing
moving to China where labor gets 69 cents a day, and 7,650 Americans
are out of jobs - the whole town.

Lou Dobbs is furious about the outsourcing of jobs and he's the only one speaking up.

DONT BUY CANNON TOWELS, LINENS, FABRICS,

NOTHING WITH THE NAME CANNON ON IT.

nEXT i wonder why a town can't get together and take over the factory and start manufacturing themselves.

If we can start a real Buy American Only movement, it'll help save
America and American jobs.

What do you think?????

1. I could never figure out why California didn't start a buy Cali movement
after getting hosed by the Fed, Enron, etc. They are #1 producers (or close to it) in dairy, strawberry, almonds wines, and so much more. Even vacation dollars could stay in Cali.

2. The choice for Cannon was either go broke or keep the non-labor
work force. They could not compete with other imported
chinese made linens. If we imposed tariffs on imported
linens, consumers will be screwed. This way atleast
Cannon still has its sales, admin, secretarial, IT,
and executive staff kept employed.

Let's face it, and like it or not, there is simply no way
to keep labor intensive manufacturing jobs in the US. If we
closed our trading, we the consumers could not afford to
buy anything. I grew up in India where the government had
banned ALL auto imports, to help domestic manufacturers.
The result was cars cost beyond what middle class could
afford, quality was piss poor, and there was a 3 year
waiting list to get one.
