What about concessions from CEO of US Air, Delta, etc.?
We read about how the airlines want concessions from the pilot union but never about their CEOs giving up their perks or, horror, cutting up their compensation to be, say, only 100 times the average worker as opposed to 400 times.

1. Because the CEOs do the important stuff, like go to meetings,
play golf, schmooze with politicians, and buy BMWs. The pilots just fly the damn airplanes.

2. that is my take too.......why is it always the low paid workers and not
the 6 to 7 to 8 figure ceos making concessions.

Our congress wants the workers to stay at minimum wage while they earn 6 figures too and have full health care and retirement....it is disgusting

we are financing their lifestyles and they are doing nothing for us..get rid of all rethugs and some of the dems tooo and lower their salaries to what the average worker makes and give them the same health care (none) and we will see them do better for the people....

3. So how much do the CEOs make?
And how much are their bonuses?

4. $32 million package, so he can "give up" $9.1 mil
http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/2003/2003-04-04-air.htm

Delta Air Lines Chairman and CEO Leo Mullin, under intense fire from congressional leaders and his own workers, said late Thursday that he's giving up as much as $9.1 million in pay and bonuses because of the airline industry's crisis.

Airline executive pay has become part of the debate about aid to the struggling industry after disclosures that CEOs got multimillion-dollar pay packages as their companies reported deep losses in 2002. Mullin's compensation package was worth $32 million last year, an amount US Airways CEO David Siegel criticized as excessive at an airline industry conference Thursday.

Last year, United cut its CEO to $712,500 http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/2003/2003-04-04-united-ceo.htm

5. This makes me sick.
I live near Cincinnati, Ohio, which is a Delta hub -- every day I hear people blame the labor unions for the airlines' demise.

Thanks for the info; I'm going to use it!
