Why are we so shallow?
Posts that have Al Gore gaining weight get more posts than those discussing the nuke potential in North Korea:shrug: Is this the age of the Enquirer or are we just as bad as those who vote for Bush without knowing the facts?

1. The TV watchers have been brainwashed.
It takes A LOT to turn them from the dark side of the FORCE.

2. Look, bucko
I started that President Gore thread. I like Al Gore very much, am devestated he's not in the WH right now, and I care about his well-being. When I saw that photo of him looking more portly, I was concerned. I know many of my fellow DUers would be, too.

It's not shallowness. It's a genuine show of concern about a man we love.

5. NK has been discussed all over the board, and frankly
all we can do until further information comes in is speculate - just like the talking heads make a living doing.

So, speculate or gossip - they're each pretty much equally useless in my opinion - but the point is NK is currently tapped out for information and people will flock to something new no matter how relevant in the void.

3. Avoiding pain.
It's painful to contemplate North Korea selling nuclear bombs to terrorists who destroy US cities.

Talking about Al Gore's weight isn't painful.
