Repukes I know are getting more crazed in their emails & rhetoric daily
I have some College buddies and their various friends participating in a sort of "political" email thread....At first, it was entertaining to see how crazed (almost from a sociological study standpoint)they would be in their rantings....then it started getting scarier by the day and then it was starting to become a distraction (deliberate I'm convinced) from me focusing on the things I'm doing to help the Kerry campaign. Now, I'm just plain convinced these people are nuts and if anything are motivating me to work as hard as I can for the Kerry campaign.

Meanwhile, I thought I'd post a few of the "comments" coming from them....Here you go:

"You and your celebrity pals better reserve a therapist's couch or a chateau in France next to Alex Baldwin ASAP, because after Nov. 2 you and they are going to be positively apoplectic with rage: "How are the American people so STUPID?!" you'll scream through your tears - and therein lies the answer: you Dems condescend to know what's better for Joe and Julie than Joe and Julie do. From effectively fighting terrorism to educating inner city kids, your candidates use abstractions and double-speak to avoid explaining what the fuck it is they'll actually DO, and Joe and Julie see through the conscension vieled as "nuance," they resent being taken for gullible, and they won't have it - and they're far more plentiful and likely to vote than your airport security guard who gave you the thumbs up because of your Kerry button on your purse. I'm an "idiot" huh Teresa? We'll see about that.

And gee, if only bumper stickers equaled votes - I tell you, at least in SF, I don't don a "W" bumper sticker because I know the maturity level of the typical Conformist Lefty in this city - in non-swing state California, slashed tires and broken windows aren't worth the trouble. It's safe to say that most Conservatives are too civilized to lower themselves to vandalism (they believe in right and wrong, see) while I'd estimate 50% of Brown Shirt Libs have no such reservation (maybe I'll make a documentary), so of course more Kerry/Edwards folks feel safe flying the colors. (And before you throw a gunned-down abortion doctor in my face, I'll offer up the cop-killing Mumia.) Today's thugs are on the "peace-loving" dippy left - in Seattle with the WTO, in SF/NYC breaking windows at war protests, and on any campus on which David Horowitz raises his voice to speak. You can't win on the facts so you call us names and shout us down - or, of course, litigate. I can't wait for the post-election lawsuits - you're no doubt already planning these, right?"

-or- try this one:

"Zell the Magnificent delivered a body blow w/his convention speech, this is a mallet to Kerry's prominent jaw.

How much more can one man take b/f he is begging Bill and Hill to pull a Torch job on him? Remember where you heard it first. Kerry will be summoned to the foot of Don Clintonia. No one will know that he goes to see Clinton, and you won't even notice anything different about Kerry, b/c he'll be droning on about National Guards, tax cuts for the rich, race baiting, Mike Moore fiction, Halliburton, etc., etc..

He'll come out and no one will know for several days, and then Kerry will resign from the race for personal problems. If the info from the meeting ever gets out it will come from the Clintonistas. They need to do three things b/f this happens. The first is Willy's ticker needs to get a little better. Apparently after a person receives a quadruple bypass, they aren't really themselves for several weeks. You may think this would be enough for me to call off my prediction, but it's not. It's admittedly pure postulation, done w/nothing other than a political hunch, but wouldn't it be wild if it did happen?

The other thing that needs to happen is that there needs to be a viable modlib hawk (don't know if one exists) who would be an improvement over Kerry, in terms of people trusting his ability to lead. As it stands now, you guys may have just 42 votes in the Senate if GW gets around 53-54% of the vote. Did you know what percentage of the Mid-term elections the Republicans won in 2002? 53.7%. They need a general election candidate that keeps the Dems at 48%. I think Evan Bayh would come close to that.

Thirdly, either the Clintonistas or GW's folks will let loose w/their whopper. Then Kerry resigns, and he is quickly replaced.

You may think it fiction, but it's only a prediction."

-finally- how about this one - His last name is Ryder - I call it the "Ryder Doctrine for how to handle terrorism":

"How do you not consider Islamofascism and Terrorism not to be a global threat? B/c there haven't been any attacks in Antarctica yet? This is exactly what I have been talking about. Your side cannot be trusted to run the national security of this country or the War on Terror, b/c like Chamberlain, you have failed to realize the extent of the threat, or to even address the scope of the threat around us. What was 9/11 in your world? Was that created by the hate engendered by GW's arrogance? You are pathetic in your naivete, and you are the exact type of person that has lead real patriots like Zell Miller to leave your party. So you want us not to go after the Terrorists for fear that it will alienate more Islamofascists? Don't you think that by lying low and using nuance and sensitivity we will be able to avoid attack? Isn't that what Russia did? Please grow some balls. My solution, "The Ryder Doctrine" as you refer to it is clearly stated as "don't be a posturing pussy - instead, go after and kill all the terrorists and those that support them, w/no remorse."

Sorry, I just needed to share this with the DU, because its just so amazing to read....it would be funny almost if it wasn't real and that these people follow Bu$h/FUCheney lockstep....instead, its scary...

the reasonable Republicans are peeling off from supporting GWB, leaving only the total wack-jobs as his supporters?

2. I'd say that is a likely conclusion/observation, scary thing is how many
of them seem to be out there...maybe its just that they seem to be so aggressive and shout it out so loud that one thinks that there are so many, but they are freaking me out....they call me an extremist and talk in ways about killing terrorists, invading other countries, talk about Muslims in frightening/racist terms etc.... Little if any separation of Church and State, think that we need to give up civil liberties to fight the war on terror etc. etc....They also have the Rovian "talking points" daily in their messages....

Some of the comments were a result of my posting my return this weekend from Wyoming and being encouraged because I saw more anti-bush stickers than "W" stickers and even while leaving Jackson Hole airport (and mind you Wyoming and that area is where Dick Cheney comes from and has a house) had even a Security Guard checking me at Security comment positively after seeing my "Kerry" Button....I thought this was all encouraging signs in what was a traditionally "conservative" state voting wise....

Maybe they are stepping up their rhetoric because they are scared of losing? But as they do it, they are getting scarier and meaner....

11. Nazis NEVER check facts
And these people ARE Nazis, with one more attack or one words from their Bushevik Masters that the 1940s KKK-law enforcement of Mississippi is in force around the nation, they will beat and intimidate and murder with the same gleeful abandon they showed in the 9130s both here and in Germany.

They are monsters and soon they will be coming.

The Amerikan People can be stupid as easily as Germans, Romans, or ancient Russians.

Can be deceived just the same as anyone else.

And are.

24. Totally agree with you Tom Paine....
I've told this very same fact to him directly and made direct references to the similarities of his rantings to that of fascists and Nazis and he then attacks me with his "Neville Chamberlain" comments and sending me articles from FrontPage that tell me that liberals are the real scourge....

Like you just said - They are monsters, they are coming - actually, they are here....I never, ever thought I'd see this in my lifetime...they have to be stopped.

I did a thesis in College about the rise of Nazi power and how they took over...I actually got to interview Germans and people who were there....Since I'm half German, I always wanted to understand how it happened. One of my conclusions was that German Culture in general doesn't always advocate "questioning authority". Few Germans ever wanted to question things and the ones that did and were either "taken away" or "disappeared" started to then shut the few remaining Germans willing to question things and what was happenng. The interesting thing was the Germans or people living in Germany who saw (just as we are seeing now in our times here) what was happening and realized that they had to speak out and at the same time, take care to get out of Germany to protect their families and help the fight from elsewhere....that is what my family did....I remember my Grandparents (who are now dead) telling me the story about how they had money, investments transferred out of the country and used it to "buy" their way out and then once elsewhere used that money to fund "resistance" and getting people in and out and information to and from the ones left behind who were carrying on the fight. My Grandmother told me how few people in the US believed what they told about Hitler and what was happening. I even had a Great Uncle that was arrested and died because of his opposition to Hitler. I remember when I did my research, I always swore to myself that I like my family and Great Uncle would always stand up to this kind of evil if confronted with it. Little did I ever know that I would have to face this evil and that what we are all doing here is almost the internet version of the "resistance" to this evil...

4. I would be hard pressed to use the term buddy
to describe anyone who would send me rants like that. I hope they're better friends than they sound.

They sure have a lot of pent-up testosterone, though. Maybe they should put it to use...and enlist.

(You have celebrity pals? Wow.) ;)

14. I used the term loosely....its a group of people I know from College days,
that still keep in touch....this one guy "Ryder" is in Michigan, runs his own business and I used to spend time in groups of people with him. He's nuts, literally and is starting to scare me in his rantings. I actually have stopped reading most of his mails, not just out of disgust, but because I have more important things to do. There are times, almost in a "voyeuristic" kind of way (not to unsimilar when folks from DU go to Free Republic to see what is "happening", followed by a long shower with lots of soap) that I glance at what he's saying. Problem is that there are about 5 people in the group that consider themselves "undecideds" and moderate Liberals....they are against Bush on every issue, but keep seeming to be suckered into the Bush/Fucheney arguments of "vote for us if you want to be protected from terrorism"....This guy Ryder actually is starting to scare me and show me the taste of what our future in America may be if their man GW is President of the US....I will say one thing - I knew this guy in College - would never have predicted that he could have turned into such a Wingnut....who knew!

Yeah, I have a few "celebrity" friends.....the "good liberal" ones too...They are good people and its funny because they are often pursued by fans and treated like "gods" (hint, one is a member of a group that had a guitarist named Jerry who is "dead" and there is a good B&J Ice Cream named for him) but they are people, with families, bad breath at times and the same stuff we all deal with....just with more money :)

It's possible his e-mail account was taken over by a LittleGreenFootball obfuscation script virus. at least that's what his post reads like to me ;)

22. Good question....
...Actually, I'd say for certain that this guy's "soul" is gone, completely....but then when you see him "praising God" and his at times "christianity references as if they show he is right because he "follows the Lord"" then I get chills....

I wish it was just an "email program" that took over his account...the prospect that it was that instead of a live being spewing this venom from his mind and mouth, would be far more comforting....that's because email programs can't vote....or can they? Hmmmmm.....:scared:

7. I have one friend left who supports W.
Just one, that I can think of off the top of my head. I've had really good luck turning perhaps a dozen other independents and Republicans--about five in the past couple of weeks--but this guy is tough.

He's a one-issue guy, too. He's Jewish, a former Marine, he strongly supports Israel, and he's a hard-liner against the Middle East. He doesn't much trust moderate Islamicism. And he doesn't much care about everything else that W has screwed up, because he's quite an optimist and genuinely thinks that things really can't get any worse.

How do I sell this guy on John Kerry? I plan to suggest that Kerry might re-forge the valuable intelligence relationship that W canned in favor of our completely untrustworthy "friends," Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. But that's all I have.

What's Kerry got on Israel that I can use to spin this dude around? If I can crack just that one issue, he cancels out Oliver North's vote.

13. You would think someone who is Jewish would be more wary of Bush
His behavior is clearly that of a fascist and, unfortunately, Jews, along with liberals, intellectuals, people of non-white color, homosexuals...are the first to be rounded up.

Does he think he'll get a pass this time?

9. Yikes...for heaven's sakes, get RID of this ugliness!
You don't need this in your email, your thoughts, or any place else!

Those writtings are foul, debased, and ....well, "otherworldly" quite frankly.. Just get rid of your connection to these people.

I wouldn't, for a second, allow people like that a "conduit" to me or my home space so they could fill it with their filth! Period.

My opinion.

That sure would be a helpful feature wouldn't it? What should we call it "Freeper Sweeper"? :)

Yeah, its been getting pretty ugly and its been really upsetting...and the negativity and hate filled statements are affecting me at times...the only good news is that in a way that have allowed me to get that much more motivated to working on the Kerry campaign and working with groups that are focused on registering new voters....

Thanks Sugar! I respect your opinions, see them often... :pals:

23. LOL--->"Freeper Sweeper"
I like it!!

One must do what one believes is necessary; I cannot tell someone else what is best for them.

In terms of getting motivated, if it works for you..okay. As for me, I do watch, read, and listen to the "other side", at the time of MY choosing, so that I can keep an eye on what they are up to. It only seems smart, IMO.

For ME, I couldn't abide hatefilled email in my computer/face...that is my space and I don't want it pouring unsuspecting vitriol into my home, if you get my meaning.

Very best wishes~~~~ :hi:

19. Oh, I've got the "good friends" - this guy is just a College Buddy from a
group of people I'm close with and he is on the email thread and has tried to take it over....I should have been more careful in my description of describing him as a friend....he is far from a friend and someone I don't want to have to be ever in the same room with...fortunately for me, he's in Michigan and I won't ever have to see him....he hates me because I just diss him and shred him in the email threads (I'm also the only woman in the discussion)...if you saw his statements on a woman's reproductive rights, you'd be really scared.....He thinks I'm a liberal "extremist" and I guess I must be getting to him at times....the good news is that there are times that I think I've actually let himself show his true colors that even some of the Undecideds who were leaning towards Bush, start rethinking that decision if it means the party of people like this Ryder guy...

21. I'm just trying to not even waste my time responding these days....
...except if there is an exceptionally good opportunity to shred his argument and show the folks on the thread what a nutcase he is....I guess when I posted this last night, I just was so frustrated and sickened, not just by him, but through the realization that he isn't just one nutjob, but the representation of a sick disease spreading across this country, and I want to stop it and I realize how serious things are getting. Just watching the RNC convention was enough to make me see how serious things are getting. So, I guess just like we all at times watch the right-wing cable media spreading its venom and lies, I occasionally read this guys rantings and I use it as a "thermometer/gauge" of what's happening in our country....scary thing is its "boiling"....

20. Why are there so many high-level folks in the military....
who are starting to come forward and saying how we are really blowing it in Iraq, now that such a great number of Iraqis are turning against the U.S. and some are even allowing the insurgents to come in to help get the U.S. out? Every time we kill or injure 1 innocent civilian it probably turns 100 more against us. The Bush supporting whack jobs obviously have no understanding of the consequences of war, and they would end up wiping every one out if they could.
