Latest repug "talking point" about escalating violence
in Iraq. On Hairball last night, heard the following conversation---Tweety asked about the escalating violence in Iraq and what it means. Repug from WSJ said the terrorists were trying to influence our election, thinking more violence would be bad for bush. Tweety called him on the word "terrorists," asking "who, who, who specifically are these terrorists?" Tweety also said, "don't give me that word, be precise." (I was mildly impressed.)

Anyway, the talking point is that "people in Iraq are trying to influence the US election" and that is why there is such renewed violence, NOT that the Iraqis are fed up with the inept occupation, and the occupation is falling apart. Next, they will say that Kerry is aiding the "terrorists" in Iraq to win the election.
