1. The people that started this war are evil
So the war is evil as a result.

2. Of course..........................
we'll see nothing of this on our government controlled media. What a shame that we have to depend on other countries to bring us the truth.

This makes me ashamed to be an American.

The way it's mixing inside my mind is really disturbing. I want to do something about it but I don't know what.

7. Most Americans won't know about this article. They won't read it in their
papers or see in on their television screens. They will continue to believe their illusion that "war" is sterile and precise and bloodless; we are morally superior and are eliminating the evildoers who threaten our safety.

I am heartsick.

5. They are all like this.
War is evil. Remember "shock and awe"? It is very likely that there were people in those buildings too.

Estimates run in the range of 12,000 to 30,000 dead Iraqi civilians and an uncounted number of dead Iraqi fighters so far. As usual, the number of wounded and maimed is many times larger than the number of dead.

All this over a pile of non-existant WMD and to depose a tyrrant our taxpayers money was spent to arm.

I lost any sense of humanity in this a very long time ago.

10. Right now it seems to be a war of attrition
designed to demoralize the Iraqis. Our military is deliberatly going after civilians in order to demoralize the Iraqi rebels.

This policy of our is assinine. Blowback from this is very likely.

11. This article says "Mission FUBARed"
I feel so bad for everyone involved. I want to leave the Iraqis alone to get some semblance of their lives back. I want our soldiers to come home from a place where they are hated more and more everyday because of the failed policies of our leaders.

MIGHT DOES NOT MAKE RIGHT.

But most Americans are too busy and ignorant and thoughtless to even TRY to imagine what "War" means.

I, too am so sad. hang in there ChavezSTT

12. If there were something to make you lose faith in humanity,
I would think it would be something like WWI, WWII and the Holocaust, Stalin, Pol Pot, the Rwandan genocide or the massacre in Sudan; and that's just in the past 100 years.

I hate to say this, but the Iraq thing is just a flash in the pan historically speaking. Yes, every death is a tragedy that shouldn't have occured. Yes, the war was stupid to begin with and the people who started it should be ashamed. However, if you could keep your faith in humanity throughout all the horrors of the 20th century, I think you can make it through this.

14. you are so right, CStT
My hope for humanity has been on the wane for some time now, but things like this really make it all too clear that collectively we are still barbarians, nothing more.

After 5,000 years of 'civilized' society, we are still not beyond dehumanizing other humans and slaughtering them in the name of 'liberation'. It's very sad. Tragic, really.

20. Where's this news in the American press??
Or the photos, no doubt. It's not even an exaggeration or an analogy to call the U.S. a fascist nation.

America is at it's low point, and it's festering and hollowing out by a corrupt core. Lets hope decent people can take the nation back and put us on a moral course.

21. Hang on to your hat, because it will get MUCH worse
before it gets any better.

After the sElection, if Smirk is reappointed, he'll turn the dogs of war loose and its going to be ghastly. (won't work of course, they'll never accept a puppet regime of infidels)

Millions of people around the world saw this coming. The neo-cons and warmongerers and Likkudnicks didn't care.
