1. Perhaps he should go there and finish his Guard Service (n/t)

2. Only if they move Thanksgiving to before
the election.

Otherwise, there's no political gain to it...

3. The answer is, because it is after the election, no.
He doesn't give a flying f**k about anyone not lining his own pockets. After the election if he loses, he'll be too busy trying to fix things for his buddies before he's out. If he wins, he has no reason to "fake it" anymore.

4. He'll be out of office by then
Although technically he doesn't have to clear out until January.

5. Shameless self-bump, but with a note
The reason I pointed this out is because, yes, the troops are still in there, and yes, the election would be over, but -

Baghdad is no longer the "safe fly zone" that "courageous" Bush flew into last year (to provide a distraction from Hillary visiting troops also). If he's so "courageous", then he should really rally the true believers of troops (like last year, when those "getting the turkey" were handpicked for their "patriotism") and show up unannounced yet again.

But, of course, nobody will call him on pulling the same "stunt" again. "Oh, it's too dangerous!" - exactly.
