I just bought Creedence Clear Water's Fortunate Son on Itunes
It was totally written about W and the Chickenhawks, I highly recommend getting it if you don't have it.

I am 26 and I have always been a fan of 60's music, but the fact that so much of the music fits today so well is scary.

Masters of War by Dylan gets my blood going.

Fortunate Son is a great one for the moment, if you are a younger DUer I suggest finding it, you won't be sorry.

4. "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield
is also a good one for you to get. They were singing about the Kent State shootings, but the words are very relevant for today.

Also, "Who'll Stop the Rain" by Creedence is good. It's about Viet Nam (the "rain" is bombs), but the words certainly suit what is going on in Iraq.

9. Boy, I love those songs.
I grew up in the 60's, and even though we were young, we knew what they were singing about.

5. Why does Macintosh need your money?
I already ripped the song from my CCR Chronicle CD I bought years ago. Since I don't believe in intellectual property I could have just sent it to you.

10. Try "The Patriot's Dream" by Gordon Lightfoot
Sadly, war is common to all generations. (I was teenager in the 60's)

12. Got "Run Through The Jungle" yet?
Thought it was a nightmare,
Lord, it's all so true,
They told me don't go walkin' slow,
Devil's on the loose.

(Now, WHO could John be signing about here?)

13. Eve of Destruction
No, not the movie, but a nice little ditty from 1965.

Here's the first verse:

The Eastern World
It is explodin'
Violence flarin'
Bullets loadin'
You're old enought to kill
But not for votin'
You don't believe in war
But what's that gun you're totin'
And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin'

But you tell me over, and over, and over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.

....

It's a heart-wrenching song, written by P. F. Sloan, and a big hit for Barry McGuire.
