8. assuming his actions are beneficial to his constituents
What's good for his career is good for everybody. And as for not wanting rich people in government, someone who's born really rich has the potential to not be corrupt. the bush's have made us forget that it's often easier to bribe someone who needs to make money. While his background doesn't neccessarily make him less of the scheming greedy politician type, we can't assume that just because he's rich he will cater his policy to making himself richer.
he'll never run for president, he doesn't need anymore money and lord knows his family still has plenty of influence. If he can do some good and it seems he already has then i'm happy to see him there.
And he is a great all-around guy. I think he is very smart and went into politics for the right reasons. There has always been a little "carpetbagging" resentment about him in the state, but he has always put the state's interests ahead of his own aspirations, I think.
He is a suprisingly quite and gentel man, polite to an extreme and very attentive. My oldest son has had the pleasure of talking to him several times and agrees with my description.
