1. You know...
I don't wish the folks in the Florida panhandle any harm, but better it hits there than New Orleans. There's just so much more potential for loss of life in New Orleans.

4. Could still change though
Probably everything between Tampa and Texas is fair game at this point.

5. It all depends on when it turns, and by how much
If it were to speed up, it may never make that turn and go right for the Big Easy

7. When Betsy hit New Orleans a few years ago
some people drowned in their attics, trying to flee rising water. The city is a disaster waiting to happen.

9. This is a worse case scenario for Mobile, Al.
Because of a funnel shaped bay, the storm surge will be greatly amplified.

10. Its pretty bad anywhere it goes...
Dont want it to hit Florida, theyve already had 2.

You mentioned how it would be really bad for Alabama and Mobile.

If it hit Mississipi it would be too close to New Orleans, which is the last place it needs to go.

Its gonna be bad either way.

11. Shit!
Edited on Tue Sep-14-04 04:06 PM by bamademo
It's coming right through my state and will be in my home town of Huntsville on Friday. Opal did this in 96 and Huntsville had tornadoes and trees down. I feel really bad for Dauphin Island and the Gulf Coast. It is so beautiful down there.

:-( :-( :-( :-(:-( :-(:-( :-(

See www.stampkeller.com for an example of how beautiful it is.

13. Decatur is near Moulton
That's where that asshole Phil Geddes fired his employee who had a Kerry sticker on her car.

16. I noticed that.
But I might have tried to find the place. I would have left them a "Bush lied, Who Died" sticker. They probably don't see too many of those up there.

14. I feel for whoever gets it
Everyone I know in NOLA are headed West now. I can only hope that the storm weakens before it comes ashore, and doesn't stall out over anywhere.

17. The whole Miss./Ala. coast is gonna get slammed.
A lot of people in my firm here in Jackson have family on the coast. Or rather, family who are coming here to ride it out. We'll get some severe winds here once it comes inland.
