CBS stands behind their reporting even though Laura Bush says they are probably forgeries. They said Mrs. Bush offered NO evidence to prove they are forgeries.

If they are in fact printed on a laser printer, then they aren't "forgeries". A "forgery" would have tried to look like experts would have expected it to look, using a cheapo secondhand typewriter...

Perhaps these are "reconstructions" of documents that were destroyed? Those in the know say they sound like original docs, but they don't look right. Leads me to think that even if they aren't the original documents, they may have the same content.

11. This is what I think....

for whatever that is worth. CBS is giving the WH the opportunity to answer their questions, if the WH does not respond soon, I think CBS will answer the questions for them with proof. Perhaps the WH feels CBSis bluffing. It appears that CBS has more in their pockets...as Drudge would say.... developing... There seems to be too much out there and the WH appears to be in a panic.

I could be wrong but I think there is someone who is out there that really wants to nail Shrub's hide. They want "mission accomplished" but not in Iraq, in the USA.

I for one is happy CBS is not telling all, they are protecting their sources... Novak go fly a kite, way, way up.

I was thinking somewhat along these lines also. However, it might be the other way around.
The WH might be in a panic over who released these documents, thinking that they have a "leak" in the administration (anti-bush for once!) that they have not been able to uncover. So, they are pushing CBS's buttons over the validity of these documents in order to force CBS into revealing the source. Just a thought.
Whatever the true reason, I believe that its just another argument over semantics designed to deflect attention from the fact that there appears to be a serious dereliction of duty on shrubs part. Alas, for some reason, most people are more interested in arguing over when proportional font spacing was adopted as mainstream technology in typewriters. Just another red herring.
