Holy moly! I already hold Ted Koppel in higher esteem than most mainstream broadcast talking heads, but he has really turned up the volume tonight!! This was a direct quote/self-criticism in his opening remarks.

Tune in to Nightline if you aren't already watching. Reporting on the absolute disaster that is Iraq today.

Hope this isn't a strong start to an ultimately weak show..

1. Not weak at all. A strong brew, IMO.
Embed reporter on the ground in Najaf, etc.

Very very interesting.

2. Finally
SOMEONE is reporting on Iraq.

Watching the soldiers I was thinking....they are there, many dying and Americans will never mourn them since we are now allowed to see their deaths or coffins and we are not allowed to know what they are doing. It's like they just go over there, no one reports what happens to them, with the exception of tonight and then they are just forgotten.

You are soooo right about the importance of complimenting signs of real life among our mainstream media!

5. So fed up with spin news
I turned in my cable box to Time Warner. If all they are going to do is show wingnut news, I don't need it. The Travel Channel was the only thing worth watching anyway and it wasn't worth 59.00 a month. Talk with your wallet and let them know why.:bounce:
