i have one general poll question; do they include green party
members in their polling?

i was just reading a thread here and it reminded me that when the polling outfit lists the breakdown of the polling, it lists repubs, dems, independents. so do they include green party in the undecided category or do they tend not to be included?

1. Who is they?
It depends on who is conducting the poll, who is paying for the poll, ect.

Green Party would probably fall into independent or "other"

2. not a specific "they", generic polling outfit "they"
just wondering if greens are included. i always see the breakdown of those polled as falling into one of three categories incl independents. so i was wondering if thats all inclusive, like greens or libertarians, basically all the 3rd partiers....

3. Probably independents,
it depends on what they are trying to measure with that specific poll.

If they are trying to get a snapshot of what the 3rd party vote is going to look like, they might add in the Green, Libertarian, Constitution party candidates, and IIRC Zogby has been doing this lately.

But for the most part pollsters are concerned with the horserace between Bush and Kerry, because the other candidates, with the occasional exception of Ralph Nader do not register statistically meaningful support in polls.
