BBV: I am in King County Central Count tonight.
I have been advised by the Director (Dean Logan) and Assistant Director (Bill Hunnekens) Which was backed up by the King County Sherrif...That I would be arrested and thrown in Jail if I tried to Video Tape any of tonights proceedings. Apparently it is a "security issue" Theirs I am sure...especially in light of some of the problems that seem to be popping up.

So far tonight results are coming in very slowly and there seems to be problems with the modems. The server has crashed at least once. No wonder they don't want me videotaping. Are there any lawyers in Seattle that want to come down and show these guys the law...so I can record a public meeting?

More later

Andy

2. Hi Andy, be careful......
......I'm fairly certain that Bev told you about the US-CERT Cyber Security Bulletin SB04-252 Advisory Re; GEMS. Can you tell me what version they are using there?

Here's a link to the laws for All State laws including Washington State. http://www.law.cornell.edu/topics/state_statutes2.html

If you need me to I will pull up the code for recording public meetings. I just need to know where to start. Do you know the name of the act that covers it or the title number to look under? It would help me to narrow the search for the relevant text.

I found a link to the King County election returns. Do you need me to do saves of the results every few minutes? If so, I'm at your service! They break the results down into a bunch of pages so if you do, which pages do you think you may need?

3. I guess audiotaping would be out of the question, too, eh?

Well, take good notes in case you can get an article out before a judge issues a gag order.

4. Well it looks as if the turnout was really light......
.....with less than 20% of registered voters in King County bothering to go to the polls. The demographics look really DEMO according to the site. :)

Election Night Final KING COUNTY 9/15/2004 1:33:21 AM
September 14, 2004 Primary & Special Elections Page 1 of 27

COUNTY WIDE

Jurisdiction Wide

Ballots Cast/Registered Voters: 199404 / 1006839 19.80%

Precincts Counted/Total Precincts: 2532 / 2616 96.79%

Preference

DEMOCRATIC D 132105 69.65%

REPUBLICAN R 55228 29.12%

LIBERTARIAN L 2332 1.23%

Also looks as if the Democrats are really motivated to win this year.
Do Registered Democrats really outnumber Republicans by over 2 to 1 in that County? If so it sounds like HEAVEN!

5. Hi Andy. Wish I could help. My family lives in Seattle, but they are all
engineers. Do be careful and keep us updated.
