I haven't been paying that much attention to the forgery issue, but IIRC, isn't Free Republic's "buckhead" character responsible for the question of whether the docs are forgeries? So suddenly, the media is at the beck and call of some dipshit right wing hate site to get sexy leads? Can you imagine Woodward and Bernstein, trolling FR to get juicy info on possible corruption? Bill Greider? Anyone with any fucking credibilty? Me neither. Free Republic is the embodiment of the extreme right. Forty years ago if a right wing organization like FR were to gain this much power, the public outcry would be enormous. The fact that the media has given FR validation is truly frightening to me.

So, then.....a shitty little theory on FR is now a major news item. Correct?

If true, then what does that say that one little conspiracy theory generated on FR can spawn a possible congressional investigation of CBS, while OUR info-gathering on Plame, Abu Graib, Nick Berg, 9/11, the Wellstone hit, et fucking cetera, is constantly dismissed as "conspiracy theory?" What does it say about the media that a misguided freeper can cause such a commotion, while legitimate questions about our own government's wrongdoings in the aforementioned situations can't even generate a story in the NYT, the supposed house organ of the left?

If I EVER hear ANYONE talk about the "liberal media" again, I'm going to punch them. Hard. In the face.

into the air is fair game for the mainstream media to pursue. You know what this means? This means Drudge is going to start looking like Edward R. Murrow in comparison with most news anchors.

Anybody remember a little concept called "integrity?"
