I got flipped off while driving!
Happened while driving through the bucolic splendor of Orange County, CA. My 320CLK sports two Kerry stickers, and just before hitting San Clemente, a truck comes up pretty close behind me.
Then he speeds up, comes alongside me on the 5, and flips me the rod. I couldn't see his face because he was so high up...all I could see was finger.

Oh well. Small people with small minds generally drive big trucks.

It's amusing
The guy probably took out a home equity loan to buy his $40000 truck that depreciates 10% a year...better hope his house holds its value...flipping me off is the maybe the most satisfaction he's gotten all year.

11. I'm thinking of
putting a sticker that says "GFY" on the driver's side window.

That way I get them first.

Or I'll change the sticker to say, "Flip Me Off if you Support Kerry!"

That's actually a good idea.

15. ROFL! that IS a good idea. or you could make a handheld "fan".
get some cardstock and tape it to a popsicle stick. so when these numnuts "approach" you again, you can flip them the sign. ha ha ha just keep it in the compartment on the door (if you have one). easy to get to. and put away. the reaction would be worth it alone.

10. Interesting to note
how Kerry/Edwards stickers make Republicans heads explode.
I was driving in Philly last week and a guy in a Buick - 1998 or thereabouts - started honking, flashing his lights and gesticulating (I've got a Saab 9.3 - 2000). I didn't notice him at first, but when I did I saw that hit face was bright red and he was pounding on the steering wheel. It may have been the "Bush Lied, Thousands Died" or the 'Nothing Accomplished' or the Kerry/Edwards or Billionaires for Bush - whatever I thought he was about to have a stroke.

13. You were luckier than I was
The Friday before Labor Day a similar thing happened to me, only I drive a little Honda Metropolitan scooter and have a "George Bush is a Punk Ass Chump" sticker in the middle of the back of my helmet.

The truck tailgated me for about a mile, then pulled around me on the left while the passenger leaned out of the window and looked at me. I get this a lot, people are either curious about the scooter or want to get a look at the chick who has the Anti-Bush sticker on her helmet.

So, after pacing me for awhile, the truck pulls forward about a car length, the passenger darts back into the cab of the truck and then I see him stick his arm straight out of the window. In his hand, he's holding a bottle of water, which he promptly empties into the air so that it hits me square in the face.

Doesn't do any good to get in a big confrontation while driving, but the wave and smile is enough to irritate them.

20. I've had a couple incidents....
But I have a little surprise. See, I drive a little Civic hatchback, because my wife drives the kid around in the 4 door. So I occasionally have had incidents due to my anti-Bush stickers.

Guys are REALLY macho until they see me get out of the grocery getter. I'm 6'1", 240 pounds. Few days ago, I had the honor of watching a guy get out of his car and take two steps forward...I got out of my car and he took two steps backward.

Republicans...really macho as long as they have the upper hand.

They may have assumed, by the style of your car, that you're a woman and are acting that aggressive.

I passed one guy in a car with a Kerry bumper-sticker when I was wearing my Kerry/Edwards hat, I waved but he didn't look toward me once! :(

22. I do that too.
I want to make a universal sign that means "I like your bumper sticker" or something to that effect. It would make things so much easier.

27. Yeah, I have tried to catch Kerry people's eye
so I can smile, wave, give them a thumbs-up but I have NEVER been able to because they always have their eyes straight ahead, sad that things are that way. :-(
