Time to tell the truth about the media. They are TRAITORS to this country.
Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 11:55 AM by blm
I am done calling them whores. They are now TRAITORS.

They know by now exactly who they are propping up this time around.

They have signed their loyalty oaths, just as required by all those seeking to be in the presence of George Bush.

KINGS force their subjects to sign loyalty oaths.

There are no longer any real Republicans voting for Bush. His voters are Royalists.

There are no longer any real media critically challenging Bush, they are now mere willing subjects to his monarchy and to their paychecks signed by Saudi royals and Bush cronies.

They are TRAITORS TO THIS NATION AND DEMOCRACY, ITSELF.

1. They bow to the NeoCons and are TRAITORS TO THIS NATION AND DEMOCRACY,
Look at how they are cutting their own throats calling for investigation of CBS and those lousy memos. They ignore the outing of a CIA agent with out a whisper but get all jacked up about a memo whose CONTENTS are true regardless of their source.

They know what is happening, and if they told the truth we would be throwing this cabal in to the deepest darkest prison there is. They are complicate and coconspirators in the theft of our nation.

Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 11:55 AM by Mika
Look at who pays for/sponsors the traitorous air time. Big oil, car companies, cell phones and cell plans, etc etc etc... most all of whom are now offshore outsourcing.

6. Yes, they or Co-Conspirators
that is why they will do everything to protect the dauphin. But that is only because he has all of them by the balls. They know if there are investigations and criminal charges, many of them would go to jail, or at the least have their careers ruined. Seems everyone is too afraid, to dare go up against Dubya. Not unless you've got balls like Dan Rather and a Network that is willing to back you up?

7. It was obvious in 2000 and is obvious in 2004 what

their agenda is. Their suppression of news is amazing once you start looking at it. I think it was two years ago, but it may have been three, that Italians had a huge labor rally in Rome, protesting something Berlusconi was going to do. There were, as I recall, some two million demonstrators in Rome, and someone (I'm thinking lebkuchen) posted photos from a European paper. The photos showed something of the huge size of the crowd.

Then I saw CNN's story, in which the photos shown were cropped to make the crowd appear smaller, while reporters spoke of "thousands" of demonstrators. "Thousands," they said, when "hundreds of thousands" or "millions" would be more descriptive and accurate. I think this had to be three years ago since it was a May Day demonstration and I remember seeing the toppling of Saddam's statue afterwards. Do you remember how the Baghdad story was played? We were shown photos cropped so as to emphasize the people around the statue -- and not show the emptiness of the square. European papers showed more realistic photos of the event.

DUers who were here at that time will also remember the poster who found a photo of Chalabi and some of his men landing in Iraq and showed that one of those same men appeared to be in the crowd in Baghdad for the statue event, and was photographed kissing an American GI on the cheek, too. Was it staged with Chalabi's men entirely?

17. Well, blm, I think you know where I stand on this...
You have supported a number of my posts saying pretty much the same thing, even during the "Walt Starr blow up". I think you are exactly right, but the frustation is how to bring it all back into balance. Is there really any chance of the media becoming honest and doing their jobs as they are supposed to?

Every day that passes, and every news show that comes along takes us one step further toward a press indistinguishable from the Pravda... a mere mouthpiece of the Bushista criminal regime. This is increasingly true the closer we get to the election. I really thought at one point it couldn't get any worse, but every day of watching proves me wrong.

Grieving the loss of Democracy is a truly painful experience. I know everyone here knows the feeling. If only it could be turned around.

18. The religious right fanantics have a surprise.
Lets just say for argument, Monkey gets in. There will be some changes in our media.

The religious right will now exert their influence over the media conglomerates. The things now shown, will be questioned as far as content for sexuality and family values.

Within months of his re-installation, the shows that moron America loves will be suspect. All shows depicting love for sale, for rent, for a one time quickie, marriage on a whim, for money, for a monkey, will be attacked by a strenghtened nut case right. Along with that will be very frontal attack on what is said, and in what context. Broadcast television will be sanitized per the demands of a very loud religious extremism.

This will not sit well with the conglomerates, as this is their money, but an all out attack on cable will be launched. The cleansing of the cable airwaves will be the next big fight, and who owns them and who is responsible. The media giants will fight back, and we will have a battle. This battle will not address the conglomerates on their stranglehold of the airwaves, but the issues of sex and violence.

This will make the Janet affair pale in comparison.

26. I think if he got in again he'd dump on the religious right BIGTIME.
He's not really a theocrat, he's a fascist USING the theocrats for votes.

Once he has noone to hoodwink, the fascists will hurriedly put all their efforts into privatizing EVERYTHING, including our military.

The capitalist market will control what we see and hear and not the religious folks who are putting their faith in a fascist prick like Bush.

by the moneyed right wing, and the greedy coorporate heads who will sell our soul for yet more money.

it is truly unfortunate that ALL the money and ALL the corporate heads are right wing and conservative.

and it is truly sad that there is absolutely NO ONE who is liberal and wealthy, thereby having an opportunity to counteract the traitors.

no one.

truly sad.

Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 08:01 PM by buddyhollysghost
that they will put their asses on the line. If this administration is to be judged on prior actions, journalists who defy KKK Rove have to fear every plane ride, every day they drop their kids off at school.

The leaders ( stifle gag) who encouraged and promoted the abuse at Abu Ghraib and the outing of an intelligence agent; an administration that powerfully tries to strongarm its way out of the 911 Commission Hearings and any other challenge to its fascism, is not going to have the grace to refrain from threatening wayward journalists.

We must support the ones who break away, and hope they have guardian angels.

For now, I don't have cable and watch only a few moments a day of news. The internet is the ONLY source for the truth.

Edited to fix and to add: it's a good idea for everyone to have a loaded camera and a way to tape phone calls - especially if you are a journalist. Not a wacko here, just a practical thinker. "Be prepared and all that jazz...."

Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 08:30 PM by PATRICK
Every wound, every death of a citizen or soldier can be laid at their doorstep. Only they and a handful of power brokers on the WHOLE PLANET are responsible for deaths for profit. They will never be punished in this life by anything except losing their market and jobs. It isn't enough and it isn't likely.

By missing the mark deliberately in 2000 they set us up for all that followed, yet they assisted mightily and still do against America, against democracy, against their own occupational creeds, against humanity. But- to quote a favorite Bush philosopher- because they say "we see" their blindness does not excuse them and their sin remains.(This by the way was Jesus arguing against the hypocrites mad because he healed the blind man.)
