Bush is smoking crack if he thinks he's going to win Illinois
Buoyed by polls, Bush shows new confidence

In the unpredictable world of politics, leads in the polls and candidates' confidence can evaporate in an instant. But President Bush and his campaign advisers are feeling pretty good these days about his chances.

During a bus tour of Minnesota on Thursday, Bush exuded self-assurance. At a roundtable discussion on health care at a sports arena in Blaine, he prowled the stage with the sleeves of his blue shirt rolled up and a grin on his face

The Bush team thinks it may even be able to make a run at Kerry in such traditionally Democratic territory as New Jersey, where first lady Laura Bush campaigned Thursday, and Illinois, which Vice President Cheney visits Saturday.

2. I'M guessing that Bush is smoking crack anyway...
With all the fantasies he's been spouting ... there's gotta be SOMEthing going on there.

3. Bush has as much a chance of winning IL and NJ
as he does Massachusetts. Zippo.

6. Rove was totally overconfident in 2000 and spent way too much time
in CA, which was un-winnable for them. I hope they make the same mistakes again.

10. I think that's what bugs me the most about him.
He's so damn arrogant that he feels he doesn't even need to explain himself because he knows there are bunches who don't care what he does as long as he claims to be a Christian.

12. Actually, I think an earlier poster nailed it.
It really isn't even the christian motif, it's the spreading of violence for which people worship him.
