So are the Dems who called the rest of us Dems "freepers" regarding docs..
...because we had an open mind about the probability they were forgeries going to apologize or will they stonewall the way freeprs do when they are proven wrong?

I'd like to think that they would be gracious and retract their accusations that we betrayed our parties for daring to think differently.

7. There were several other threads where I and others...
Presented some of the evidence we found and debunked several arguments claiming they were real.

You can search my name out to see.

We maintained from the get go that whether or not the documents were forgeries did not diminish the truth of Bush being AWOL. All we got back was a lot of hostility and name calling that THEY knew who WE really were (wtf?).

Anyone who has read my posts here in the past or even performed a cursory background check regarding my history should KNOW that I am no Bush fan (uh... check my tagline banners?)

But the hostility was truly frightening and reminded me of the type of blind partisanship and unwillingness to really get to the truth that I always thought was exclusive of freeps themselves.

It' was a real learning experience.

See some of the posters already crawling out from under rocks with the hostile posts here?

3. forgeries......
The author of that memo is dead and cannot be contacted as to the veracity of his authorship. However, his secretary is very much alive and stated firmly that the document in question was not typed by her, however she does remember typing documents expressing very much the exact same content.

Bush's commanding officer was very troubled by Georgie's refusal to take required medical exams as well as his being unavailable for duty.

Looks like I owe you an apology...

I misread YOUR post as being hostile because I didn't know what the abbreviations stood for and thought it was some cryptic reference to I don't know what lol.

Thanks for clearing it up through PM.

Nice to see you here too!

6. seems to me that the closed minds
were the ones that believed they were forgeries.

didn't want to open up the possibility that this was a very important story that could lead to major problems for the *moron.

i still think more is to come from this, maybe not tomorrow, but when you'd least expect it.

no apologies needed, nor expected from you btw.

12. Sorry, you're wrong. My mind is open about everything.
I never discounted this was not an important story. I discounted one piece of evidence presented to tell that story which was not real. It certainly does NOT discount the other truths that Bush was AWOL.

I looked at the one document though and saw evidence that showed it was done on MS Word, not a 1960's typewriter. I along woth several others stated and posted what that evidence was.

Despite every shred of evidence posted that proved people with "open minds" should consider the possibility they were forged, people STILL insisted that there WERE typewriters from the 60's that could match the same spacing and superscript of MS Word.

This is the type of "closed mind, trust the source" mindset that got Mr. Rather in trouble.

Despite the fact no one stepped forward to identify the exact brand and model as I asked them to.

We've been screaming since last MAY (2003) about Bush's AWOL status on our two websites, MONTHS before anyone in the mainstream media paid any attention to it or other sites presenting evidence of his AWOL status like www.awolbush.com.

It's interesting that no one who suggested we were from the "other" side has the character to step forward and say now "hey... guess you may have been onto something, sorry for the hostility".

My point is that the open hostility towards those not following the "party belief" or suggesting an issue requires more thorough examination is not that different from the hostility I've seen while lurking Freeperville.

It's disappointing to say the least as I have always believed we were better than that.

It's pretty much a closed issue now but I would suggest in the future when Dems and Libs here have a difference of opinion it's not because those with an unpopular opinion are trolls from Freeperville.

10. When the author is proven to be other than Killian or his
aide or some such, then let me know. If they are proven to be forged, who forged them? What many probably were objecting to was the obvious, that the right had all the perfect questions to ask immediately after the broadcast.

It's the story that matters, Bush is a silver spoon, chickenhawk, punk-ass flake.

No apology here.

13. I won't apologize because the docs CAME from the GOP!
Roger Stone rears his ugly head again.. the docs may have been forged, but the content was REAL. The forgery was done to take focus away from the REAL docs, which show the same thing.

Kill (or malign) the messenger.

Kind of what the Freepers are doing to Dan Rather.

A very mature stance :yourock:

15. I got flamed for saying "Screw Dan Rather." Today.
Even if Rather is seeking the truth, he did so in a horribly incompetent way that betrayed the requirements of his profession.

But, because he's going after Bush, some people consider him the patron saint of DU.
