Seriously! When I moved at the end of June, I left my TV set in its box, which I put in the basement. It's still down there.

The closest I've come to watching TV this summer was catching all four nights of the DNC on C-SPAN's website. And except for "The Daily Show," I haven't missed vacantly staring at that 24-inch screen one bit--particularly when I hear y'all justifiably complaining about the media's pro-Bush slant in the lead-up to the election. In fact, I'll go as far as to say that "killing my television" was one of the best things I've ever done for myself!

1. it's a little like living in a sterile environment
You're healthier, but your resistance goes down.

Nonetheless, killing your television is a laudable action.

2. Congratulations
for giving up the ol' One-Eye. TV promotes passivity and distortion. Welcome back to the real world.
