3. Ha! Ha!
Well said. Cynical humor is about all we have left. Although I try to keep up.

5. If he was able to get in to Yale
without help from daddy, you know he had good grades.

6. He delivered a valedictory speech at his 1966 Yale graduation.
Doesn't that mean he was at the top of his class?

"...in a valedictory speech to his 1966 Yale graduating class. 'This Vietnam War,' he said, 'has found our policymakers forcing Americans into a strange corner.' Solemnly insisting he valued military service, he mused about 'the very roots of what we are serving.'"

7. From an old Webster's..
"A valedictory oration or address spoken at commencement in
American colleges or seminaries by one of the graduating
class, usually by the leading scholar."

I can't recall who was my college valedictorian, but in highschool, it was the person with the highest GPA.

Graduations usually include a student salutorian, who makes remarks on behalf of the class.
