"There are mortals whose life is certainly not active.....
'"There are mortals whose life is certainly not active, for they do neither good nor evil, and whose life cannot be called contemplative, for they never attend either to the conduct of men or the works of nature, but rise in the morning, look round them till night in careless stupidity, go to bed and sleep, and rise again in the morning"

Dr. Johnson 1758.

Pretty much sums it up, dosen't it?

1. sheeples have been around for quite a while
hence the term "tyranny of the masses".

Many of those people are prime candidates for "conservative" thinking though, specifically because they don't want to be challenged and they don't want change. They are really frail that way, but very quick to anger when you tell them something isn't "pc", and quick to anger when their cherished institutions are challenged: religion, marriage, selfish self-interest, or specifically anything that requires them to contemplate, attend to the conduct of men or works of nature, or look round them with eyes that might see reality.
