A powerful quote that should be sent to every Social Darwinist! (Freepers)
"Americanism means the virtues of courage, honor, justice, truth, sincerity, and hardihood-the virtues that made America. The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living and the get-rich-quick theory of life."

Theodore Roosevelt (January 10, 1917)

1. You've been watching Lou Dobbs!
He quoted TR last night with that one. :) He then said it's amazing how often they quote TR.

4. Let 'em tear...
But, frankly, I really don't care what freepers think, like, want, etc.

If they are too unbelievably stupid to grasp the most basic of truths, I have no time to waste on them. I would say, don't engage them in debate, don't engage them in conversation (if either is possible).

Just publically berate them, mock them, expose them for the self-caricatures that they are. Don't give their "arguments" the dignity of a thoughtful response. Just laugh at them for the trash that they are. Once they have been humiliated and exposed as the morons that they truly are, they'll go back to their dens for a while. This is what works in American politics. It's about time we figured that out.

5. Teddy, not Franklin
Never heard TR called 'commie.' Franklin, on the other hand...

6. By freeper thinking
and I use that term loosely, Teddy was a trust-busting socialist.

7. The problem with that is they wouldn't see the irony
They wouldn't see that they, as well as Bush, fit the second description and not the first. This quote would have them waving their flags and wearing "Proud To Be An American" T-shirts and singing Toby Keith songs. There is no way any of them would see themselves correctly in that quote.

You can't fight these people with intelligence. That's like fighting a fire breathing dragon with dry wood chips.
