137 American dead in Afghanistan
According to the Defense Department, 137 U.S. military personnel have died in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, launched after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in the United States.

Hopefully, so are the people of Afganistan. We had to intervene there. I just wish we'd focused more on building that country up as opposed to destroying Iraq.
