Three more Kerry-Edwards signs go up in two day's
Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 03:18 PM by demdem
This is incredible, I live in PA and in 2000 you did not see any Gore yard signs or bumper stickers anywere. This year they are all over the place. I was at the state fair for several days and the people walking around with Kerry/Edwards stickers and buttons out numbered the Bush stickers 2-1. The democrats who along with the republicans have registration stands and the Democrats in ten days registered 7381 new voters to the republicans 3119. This was a record for the Democrats for registration at the state fair, the previous record was held by Carter in 1976 at 5314. I might add that York PA is a conservative county.

1. Very unscientific but
I keep mental tab of the bumper stickers that go by in my lower middleclass neighborhood here in NC and I see a lot of W stickers but lately I've seen more Kerry stickers..
it makes me so proud.

i traveled from high point to charlotte yesterday, and it was unbelievable. i drove through my old neighborhood on the way home (very republican, only one black household since i moved), but to my amazement, i saw two b/c, and five k/e yard signs. i honestly thought i had gone through the looking glass. it's the same here in high point, i'm seeing more & more kerry/edwards & erskine bowles bumperstickers & yard signs. i hope this is all a good sign.

4. So much for the rural counties in battleground states being all Bush
One would expect rural folks to outnumber city folk at state fair so this is good news. People registering now by party affiliation are obviously looking toward the general election so the affiliation is probably a good predictor of how they will vote in November.

5. West Virginia Here
I live on a road that was just paved two years ago, it a lane and a half with some wider places to pass. Neighbors here tend to be about a half mile apart, and all up and down the road - Kerry/Edwards signs are all you see. We get a good bit of traffic on the weekends because there is an exit point from a river that is used by a lot of white-water enthusiasts and ATV clubs out for weekend rides. Four years ago our home was the only one sporting Gore signs and I know that almost everyone from around here voted for Bush. Not again.

7. Bush sign goes down here in IA
This place near where I work has had a Bush sign up for months, but last week it disappeared. Maybe someone took it, or maybe it was blown away in the same storm that took out a tree branch in my back yard, but I like to think the owners changed their minds.

Now that I said that it will probably be back up again... ;)
