1. They are going to attack no matter what
They will use the same Hitler-Poland propaganda run-up they did with Iraq.

No one will ask questions.

8. I have a feeling Israel will be in on the kill for this one, considering
they are purchasing 5000 smart bombs from us.

2. Might be wise to wait until January and ask President Kerry.
You've already left the house a mess, Colin. Don't make it worse.

3. Iran likely does have an aggressive nuclear program
but we have completely blown our credibility and moral authority, as well as overextended our military so what, exactly do they propose to do about it? By the way, that makes TWO states on the "axis of evil" who have obtained nuclear technology since the chimp has been in office. Who the hell, other than Israel, is going to support us.

To quote the chimp, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...won't get fooled again.

5. What George W. Bush actually said:
"Fool me once, shame on you, fool me uh can't get fooled again."

Note that he didn't say, "Shame on me."

This preznit seems pathologically unable to take responsibility of anything.

I don't think it was an unintentional gaffe -- in fact, it's eerily telling.

6. If I were ANY other country dealing with the U. S. right now....
...I would want to have as much deterrent available that I could either design or buy.

JMHO.

4. Israel urges sanctions against Iran for nuclear program
Edited on Wed Sep-22-04 12:21 PM by bemildred
Interesting by way of contrast with the "We're going to
bomb the shit out of you" rhetoric one sees in other stories.

UNITED NATIONS - Israel urged the
United Nations on Wednesday to move
toward sanctions against Iran because
Tehran is never going to abandon its
alleged quest for nuclear weapons.

"We know that the Europeans are
trying now to engage with the Iranians.
But we know that the Iranians will
never abandon their plans to develop
nuclear weapons. They are only trying
to hide it," Foreign Minister Silvan
Shalom told reporters at the United
Nations.

He said European nations were waking
up to the realization that Iran was
developing missiles that could hit Paris,
Berlin and London as well as Israel.

Iran says its nuclear program, some of
which it concealed for years from the
International Atomic Energy Agency,
the UN nuclear watchdog, is purely for
peaceful purposes.

11. No plans to attack Iran: Powell
From correspondents in the United Nations
23sep04

THE US has no plans to attack Iran to thwart what it claims is the Islamic republic's pursuit of nuclear weapons, but has not formally ruled out any options to deal with the matter, US Secretary of State Colin Powell said today.

Instead, Mr Powell told reporters that Washington and its allies were concentrating on a diplomatic and political route to force Iran to come clean about and abandon the alleged program within the auspices of the UN system.

"I'm not aware of any plans to attack Iran," he told reporters on the sidelines of the annual session of the UN General Assembly. "Every nation has all options available to it.

"I think we're working in the world of diplomacy and politics," Mr Powell said, adding that he had found in conversations with foreign officials a consensus that Iran had to meet demands from the UN nuclear watchdog by November or face possible sanctions from the UN Security Council.

It's the old battle, Powell against the neo-cons, and in the long run there can be no doubt who would win. Thank God, there are elections in November...

13. Er..these don't mean the same thing

Can you say "plausible deniability"?
