300 people killed in Iraq today.
On CTV news just now. They also showed a disabled humvee with swarms of people dancing around it get hit by a missle from an American plane. They then showed a video of an American tank being blown skyhigh. I didn't see anything like this on CNN today.

4. That really suck! This is getting way out of control!
300 people is by far the most in one day for a long long long time. The only good that could come out of this is to see Bush drop in the polls. This is going to hit the news big time tomorrow!

8. The report said they did not have any reports of American deaths.
It was insurgents,Kurds, innocent bystanders, beheaded hostages etc,it sounds like the place is really spinning out of control.

7. Local news here did a teaser
saying that a Bradley(?) tank was blown up while patrolling in Baghdad while showing the video. I didn't watch the news; after taking in a few of the regular talk shows, I decided it was time for a break and started gearing up to watch the Bears - Packers game. That made it a good day :toast:

9. the disabled Humvee scene...
... is eerily similar to this story from the 13th ( http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=04/09/13/1428225 )
depicting a reporter being killed from the same kind of action. In that one, around 100 people died.

Why don't we see any of this in the mainstream media here in the States???

12. Remember this Prime Time Press Conference
April 13, 2004

We will continue taking the greatest care to prevent harm to
innocent civilians; yet we will not permit the spread of chaos
and violence. I have directed our military commanders to make
every preparation to use decisive force, if necessary, to maintain
order and to protect our troops.

The nation of Iraq is moving toward self-rule, and Iraqis and
Americans will see evidence in the months to come.
....
On June 30th, when the flag of free Iraq is raised, Iraqi officials
will assume full responsibility for the ministries of government.
....
On that day, the transitional administrative law, including a bill
of rights that is unprecedented in the Arab world, will take full effect.

On Sunday, 13 Iraqis were killed and dozens injured in Baghdad when US
helicopters fired on a crowd of unarmed civilians

When I arrived there I saw hundreds of kids and young men heading
towards the smoke. "Run fast, it’s been burning for a long time!"
someone shouted as I grabbed my cameras and started to run.

10. If no Americans died,
then it didn't really matter to U.S. news.
Then again, it doesn't matter if Americans die also, when you think about it.

13. let's see- if 300 were killed and 47% of iraq's people are...
...under 17, then the troops managed to kill approximately 140 children, today. Go troops!
