Tucker Carlson asks, "Is Barack Obama black?"
Is Tucker Carlson white? From this past Friday's show, "Tucker Carlson: Unfiltered":
Carlson: Barak Obama, you've written about. Is the -- as I understand the son of a white mother and a Kenyan father. Something about it strikes me as creepy that it's against most Americans that he's black. Is he black?
Hmm..."creepy" that most Americans think that Barack Obama is black. (Tucker paused after saying "against" and then started again, so he was saying that people consider Obama to be black). Now, where would the American people get an idea like that?:
Obama: Maybe thought that the fact that I'm African-American warranted an African American candidate.
Creepy indeed. I really don't get why PBS gave that pinhead Tucker Carlson any airtime. Couldn't they just show another episode of "Antiques Roadshow"?

1. What's creepy is Tucker Carlson.
Edited on Mon Sep-20-04 12:03 AM by ocelot
Evidently Obama considers himself to be black. Why should Creepy Carlson take issue with that, aside from the fact that he's an effete, mannered little douchebag who should have his effete little bow tie shoved right up his effete little bum?

2. Two tests to determine if Obama is black
Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 11:46 PM by MidwestTransplant
First test. If he attended a Bush rally, would he be put on the risers behind Bush. If yes, he's surley black.

Second test: If he attended the RNC, would the cameras focus on him a whole bunch. If yes, he's surely black.

5. I have no idea why PBS gave this idiot a spot.

I guess I would have had to hear the entire bit about Barack. I guess I'm not sure why he even mentioned his ancestors at all. I guess I'm just a stupid white lady, but I don't look at Barack as a black man, didn't look at Colen as a black man either. I simply heard them speak and said hey, this guy is good!

Why did he even mention this? Knowing Tucker, he was trying to put Barack down with this comment, but I'm missing his point. What the hell was he really trying to say?

Edit: I must say, I really had a lot of respect for Colen, until he lost his credibility and decided to follow the great leader.

8. He was probably saying that the Democratic Party

has "fake" blacks as members, while "real" blacks, {you know, the ones who care about their stock portfolios) are in the GOP.

Tucker is just that nutty.

10. i'm one of the lucky ones
Carlson is not on either of my pbs stations. What a really stupid comment for him to make, real flamebait and he knows it which makes it worse imho.

6. Whats SO bad about the question?
Kind of a strange, odd question -- but what's so mindbogglingly horrible about it? Is it really racist? I thought it was weird but only because I've never heard it asked before.

9. He has answered this question...
...Tucker's "query" proves one thing beyond a shadow of a doubt: Tucker Carlson is as white as they get, and there's little chance HE will ever be mistaken for "being guilty of being a black man". That said, he also demonstrates a deep-seated failure to understand, well, just about everything.

Wow, just when you thought they couldn't get any smarmier. Tucker, Swaggart, Zany Zell and snarlin Dick Cheney. No lack of angry old skittish insecure white men there.

12. Tucker aspires to...
...be 0.001% as popular as Rush Limbaugh.

Someone should inform him that it is not necessary to wear a bow tie to be a political commentator anymore...
