Tom Daschle has GOT to be a Republican mole
Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 07:32 PM by malatesta1137
After Meet the Press today, after watching GE spy Russert and swine Thune DESTROY Daschle, I can only conclude that Daschle is the wimpiest, weakest excuse for a leader the Democrats ever had. He should resign and never let himself be seen on a public street again.

He had TONS of opportunities to expose Bush and this corrupt scum Thune, but chose the 'high road'. He's the reason Republicans today control the White House, Congress and the Supreme Court and a liability to John Kerry. Daschle, F*CK YOU!

1. If Daschle loses there is one silver lining
Yes, I know, we lose a senate seat, blah, blah, been there done that.

But it does force Democrats to pick a new leader, perhaps somebody with two balls instead of just one.

3. We must have watched a different MTP today
On the one I saw, Russert actually sent Thune through the rickets. He came out bloodied and beaten. Daschle beat him up too.

7. what?
did you see the way Russert put Kerry on the spot by having Daschle say that he disagreed with Kerry's 87 billion vote? He left the viewer thinking that Kerry was wrong.

Daschle WAS DESTROYED by both Russert and Thune and all he could come up with was "this is disappointing".

13. That's what I saw too
I thought Daschle kicked the crap out of Thune. I wondered why he doesn't do the same to George Bush.

14. I'm with you, Lefty48197
Daschle spanked Thune when Thune tried to make it personal by accusing Daschle of giving comfort to our enemies by questioning Bushco policy. He got visibly angry but contained himself. I thought he did a good job.

All Thune did was talk fast without managing to actually say anything.

And, I don't blame Daschle for running to the center; he's in South Dakota, fer chrissakes. Sure beats the alternative.

I'm amazed that some here are willing to sacrifice Daschle for a Bush lovin' right wing extremist just to make a point about his perceived wimpiness, which by the way is a right-wing construction.

4. It's a tough world out there.
Bush will win South Dakota by a landslide, Daschle has to pry so votes from those supporting bush. Maybe you should be mad at the people of S.D. for being so stupid. They hate welfare unless it is in the form of a farm bill.

5. Russert, while harder on Daschle, was not giving Thune a free pass.
Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 07:36 PM by PROGRESSIVE1
I'd say that they both came out not looking good after that show.

On edit: Yes Daschle looked worse and Thune and the Democrats should not choose their leader from a RED STATE!!!

12. I agree with your "edit"!
I never thought about things like that before but it makes perfect sense!

NO more leaders in Senate from Red States!

Do the pukes do that..choose their leaders from a blue state?

Didn't think so!

15. Ummm, Hastert is from Illinois.
Admittedly he only has to appeal to his district instead of statewide, but that isn't the real problem. Daschle's problem isn't that he has to appeal to more conservative voters. His problem is that he doesn't project the strength of his convictions. While I have a lot of problems with Bill Clinton, he was completely right on one thing. People will follow someone who is wrong, but strong, over someone who is perceived to be weak.

18. One example from the other Dakota...
...Byron Dorgan, he showed up in Fahrenheit 911, and is predicted to keep his senate seat.

So the moral of the story is, just because a senator represents a red state doesn't mean he has to lurch rightward.

20. And Kent Conrad, the other NoDaker, voted AGAINST the Iraq
war authorization. That's balls for you.

If Daschle can't support Kerry, he needs to resign as Dem majority leader.

9. Thune has got Daschle runnning to the right
thats pretty sad thats the only way he thinks he can win. I wouldn't mind seeing a new senate dem leader on one hand but i also don't want to see that seat get lost to the gop, especially Thune.
