I saw the Dali Lama tonight and he talked about disarmament
and he said the most kind was "internal disarmament" and that by cultivating inner peace, we can achieve world peace. And he said that the term 'world peace' had become fashionable, and held little meaning anymore.

He was asked what he would say to America's new president and he answered it would be more appropriate for the American people to communicate to the president.

Also, he was asked what the meaning of life was and he said, "I don't know!"

He spoke quite a bit about Iraq and how sad it was that so many people are suffering and dying.

He was so humble and compassionate and humorous.

What an inspiration!

3. Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
at the stadium where the Panthers play - they call it the Office Depot Center now.

It was completely sold out.

Also, it was cool to see Buddhist monks, Rabbis and Priests hanging out together before the show.

2. two planes
i have always admired the teachings of the Dalai Lama ... what a great man of peace he is ...

still, i have found it not just difficult but almost impossible to reconcile my deep beliefs in his message with my political views ...

right now, i am at war with the right ... i am fully armed ... not disarmed ... to trust in the method of the peaceful way at this critical time is beyond my capacity ... and i can't truly know it is the right way ...

how disquieting it is to try to build one plane from two ...
