history ? have military families spoken out like this in the past?
just listening to sue niederer on the radio, and checking out the mfso web site. got me wondering if military families and returning soldiers have ever been this outspoken before. historians?
But as equally as important as speaking out, there are now more outlets for those speaking to be heard. If the internet had been as developed back during 'Nam as it is today, you probably would have had as many (if not more) voices speaking out. 'Nam lasted a lot longer and had about 47000 more US military casualties than we have experienced so far in Iraq.
I just mentioned to my spouse that I had a feeling that something is going on tht we are not aware of.
Just finished watching 60-Minutes where they were interviewing the troops in Najaf,(sp)Iraq. They talked about the hand to hand fighting within the Iraqi cemetary. They told of their commrades being killed and tht they were so close to the insurgents that they could see their eyes and even smell their body odors.
Soon after I came on-line and one Post mentioned that John Kerry was brining the Iraq issue to George. That Mothers who had lost their sons would be campaigning with him starting tomorrow.
I have a strong feeling that CBS along with Dan Rather has a whole lot more to say and that John Kerry and John Edwards, have just begun to fight.
