Someone posted this to the NY Yankees list (I'm a huge Yankees fan):

From pages 276-277 of Bob Woodward's, Bush at War....

The next evening, Tuesday, October 30, the president flew up to New York to
throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Game 3 of the World Series between
the Yankees and the Arizona Diamondbacks. At the stadium, he went to the
bullpen area to warm up. It was difficult to throw in the bulletproof vest
he had agreed to wear, and he wanted to keep his arm loose.

The president emerged wearing a New York Fire Department windbreaker. He
raised his arm and gave a thumbs-up to the crowd on the third base side of
the field. Probably 15,000 fans threw their arms in the air imitating the
motion.

He then threw a strike from the rubber, and the stadium erupted.

Watching from owner George Steinbrenner's box, Karl Rove thought, It's like
being at a Nazi rally.

Well, Rove would certainly know...
