Oh, when I said that it was taken out of context. Or maybe I misspoke. Anyway, what I had in mind was that we'd be safer to not challenge the current crusade.

Once it's uttered, the die is cast. Calculated slander. Cheney is a pro.

The idea here is the same though. Cheney says Kerry would jeopardize security. Everyone lashes back. So Cheney clarifies his statement.

But the damage is done due to the GOP media and sound bite mentality.
