Bullies at the Voting Booth
What if Republican shenanigans tip the election? Many members of the media are looking at the dangers voting machines may pose to the integrity of the national election. Others are wondering whether voters may be disenfranchised by use of faulty felon lists, as happened in Florida in 2000. But there is another danger: Republicans may use a variety of tactics to suppress the vote of racial minorities in swing states. These tactics could determine control of the White House or the Senate.

1. I think Florida is a lost cause . . .
thre's no way Jebby is going to let his brother lose Florida . . . and with the new touch screen machines, accomplishing that will be even easier than it was four years ago . . . pick up the October Vanity Fair for an interesting (and lengthy) report entitled The Path to Florida (not online that I know of) that reviews what happened in 2000 and previews this year's election . . . bottom line: Bush takes Florida, no matter what the actual vote may be . . .
