My hubby...I think I'll keep him!
I posted a version of this in the lounge today, but I thought some of you that never go there might be interested too...

My hubby (a fellow DUer) was walking our precinct today, selling yard signs for Kerry, and meeting voters face to face. He encountered a repuke who angrily told him that he had come to the wrong place, and said "You'd better not steal my * yard sign if I put one up." My husband just said, "I wouldn't do that," and walked off. Of course, he was angry and wanted to say, "It's the Republicans that steal things, like elections.", but he didn't because he was representing Kerry.

In addition, he's been trying to cheer me up by putting up pictures of Kerry around to surprise me. I've been a little depressed lately about the election, although I try to hide it. He inserted a picture of himself into a group shot of Clinton, Kerry, and Carter and framed it. When I saw it on the shelf above the computer, it cracked me up. I have to admire his optimism and hard work. He's working his butt off for Kerry. He's so busy, he doesn't have time to feel down, and he'll keep going until election day, no matter what the polls say.

I had tears in my eyes when I posted this. But the great thing is that with all the volunteering he and I are doing this year, we've met many, many optimistic people who are sacrificing to defeat *.

4. Aw, shucks!
We're both lucky. But thanks. Of course it helps when we agree completely about politics.

6. I know
It seems like they must have totally different world views. I don't know what common ground they could base their "discussions" on.
