The ONE thing Progressives need most is
a national TV news network, similar (but very different) to Faux. We've discussed this here before, but is there any hope in the future of actually seeing one? Is it even realistic? Are we inundated anyway with CNN, MSNBC, FAUX? Progressives, as a group, usually don't have the buying power that repugs do, so maybe it wouldn't be profitable? But, I keep thinking of the slow success of AAR, and how liberal talk radio is becoming more visible these days. Why wouldn't Soros and friends investigate this possibility...or maybe Ted Turner (hmmm, is Ted even a Dem?) It's just that when the media becomes the media-arm of the wingers, we are headed for fascism for sure. Ok, guys, whip out your wallets and let's start our own network.....I can dream.

1. I am SO with you on this!
This is exactly what we need more than anything else. When Republican congressmen stage their entrances for the benefit of the media, then without the media, we are nothing.

7. I thought I had heard Al Gore had invested in media.
I can't remember if it was TV or radio, but I have heard nothing about it for months.

2. I believe Ted Turner is at least left of center . . .
He wrote an essay in praise of regulations that limit the number of media outlets one company can own in one area. He said that he could never have built TBS or CNN in today's "deregulated" climate.

3. I agree that Ted Turner is our best bet. -
He could raise a lot of money to set this up. I would personally like to buy shares in such a new company and I'm sure others here would also.

4. Ted Turner, Soros, Al Gore need to get together and DO it.
Why haven't they?

6. Soon as I find out I'll let you know - I have several
mutual fund IRAs that could be shifted to support something like this.
