Wierdly, some of these rabid nuts actually know and act like they are friends with gays in that class of "not out, but everyone in town knows" They will say that so and so is OK, at the same time that they want to burn us all at the stake. I worked with a guy like this for a while, it made me crazy. Fortunately at the time it made HIM even crazier, because I worked in a county with good anti-discrimination laws, and several other out gays and lesbians at my workplace. *snicker*
