A brief Google of Karen Haynes reveals that she arrived at Cal State San Marcos from the University of Houston. Open Secrets reveals that in 1999 she donated $250.00 to the Congressional campaign of one Loy Sneary (how unlikely a name is that) a "conservative" Democrat who was running against Libertarian-leaning Republican Ron Paul. Apparently the race turned into a pissing contest about who was most conservative. The New Republic described Sneary as "the kind of Democrat Dick Armey could love."

It's a sad and sorry day when the President of a public university cancels a speaker simply because she disagrees with his politics. What the hell has happened to academic freedom in this country?

he wasn't even going to be on the campus, but at the Escondido Center for the Arts. I heard on Stacy Taylor's show yesterday that a lot of private contributions have come forth since this blew up, and it may still happen.

I like how they invited Schwarzenwhatever, and he never even returned their call!! He was probably too busy stumping at another strip mall or galleria, having a total recall about terminating girly men or something.
