Worst Case Scenarios Part One: Post * Re-Election Sports
Here's a sport for the more cynical-minded progressives if Generalissimo Gee Dubya is re-selected: dropping dimes on College Republicans seeking to dodge the draft by fleeing abroad.

1. I know.
I tried to persuade my two draft-age sons to be out of the country this fall, and they think I'm simply hysterical and overwrought.

If Bush is re-selected, they could easily close the borders and not permit any draft-age men (and maybe women too) to leave.

And don't think there would be the kind of massive uprising necessary to prevent it. Our Congress has rolled over time after time in the face of the Bush Cabal. Police units have shown themselves enthusiastic in their willingness to support the administration, to trample the civil rights of citizens, to arrest and detain unlawfully, to shoot innocent bystanders.

The best we could hope for is that the armed forces would themselves stage a coup and overthrow the administration, but I rather doubt that would happen.
